The 2nd workshop within the RAISELIFE project takes place on Thursday, 28 November in Düsseldorf, Germany. Among the speakers will be scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE who will talk about the durability of CSP mirrors and absorber coatings as well as the optimization of recoating intervals.
The RAISELIFE project, funded in the EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation program, was started in April 2016. The project focuses on developing materials with increased lifetimes and performance for CSP. The following novel solutions are being developed in the project:
The testing activities involve outdoor exposure as well as accelerated testing in climate chambers and under concentrated solar radiation. Finally, a techno-economic analysis is being conducted using system simulation tools to determine the economic benefit of the newly developed materials compared to the state of the art.
The aim of this 2nd workshop is to disseminate the results after 44 months of project implementation and specifically to present and discuss best practices on degradation monitoring, O&M and also the economic assessment of material degradation.
