CSP ERANET and H2020-SOCRATCES organize the CSP TECHNOLOGY DAY (21 October, 9:00-13:30 CEST), a webinar that will take place during the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW). The aim of this event to present the achievements and further challenges of CSP, and present upcoming funding opportunities on the sector to keep feeding the development of this promising sustainable technology.
Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technology is aiming to play a main role in the European renewable electricity generation in a medium term, making a significant contribution to the transformation of the European energy system by providing an important share of dispatchable renewable electricity. CSP will give a significant contribution to help meet the energy needs of large parts of the world, creating a potentially very important export sector for the European industry and supporting the decarbonisation agenda of the Paris Agreement. The European industry is global leader in CSP, with European entities involved in most of the projects developed so far worldwide.
CSP ERANET is the result of a joint EU will for bridging the gap between research and commercial deployment in the Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technology, so this technology can play a main role in the European renewable electricity generation in a medium term. H2020-SOCRATCES global objective is to develop a prototype that will reduce the core risks of scaling up the technology and solve challenges; further understanding and optimise the operating efficiencies that could be obtained; with the longer-term goal of enabling highly competitive and sustainable CSP plants.

The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) will take place on 25-29 October 2021 under the theme: ‘Towards 2030: Reshaping the European Energy System’.
The Policy Conference is the biggest European conference dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe. Once again, the Policy Conference will be organised in a digital format, under the theme ‘Towards 2030: Reshaping the European Energy System’.
Sessions organised by the European Commission and energy stakeholders will focus on sustainable energy issues, debate new policy developments, best practices and sustainable energy ideas. Alongside the conference, networking opportunities will gather the EUSEW Community online to forge alliances whilst the EUSEW Awards celebrate outstanding individuals, projects and ideas.
